On July 9, 2026, Wang Youli, Counselor of the Embassy of China in Jamaica attended and addressed the Graduation Ceremony of Earnest Institute For the Gifted, Hyperactive & Talented (E.I.G.H.T.). The Honourable Desmond Anthony Augustus McKenzie, CD, MP, JP, Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Ms. Natasha Russell, Principal of E.I.G.H.T., and Mr. Justin Duncan, Education Officer for QEC 2 attended the ceremony.

The Jamaican side expressed their sincere appreciation to the Government of China and the Embassy for their continued support and dedicated efforts in advancing E.I.G.H.T.’s development and noted that the school will continue to promote Chinese language learning and contribute to strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
