On 7 January 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica Chen Daojiang attended the Chinese Ambassador's Scholarship Awarding Ceremony at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus, and delivered a speech. Mr. Densil Williams, Principal of the UWI Mona, attended the ceremony along with senior staff and scholarship recipients of the university.
