On 26 October 2022, China (Shandong)-Jamaica Investment Promotion Conference was hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Jamaica and Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office at the Ambassador’s Residence, which was supported by the Government of Jamaica. H.E. Mr. Chen Daojiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Jamaica, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Over 200 guests attended the conference in a hybrid way. Guests from the Jamaican side include Senator the Hon. Leslie Campbell, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica (MFAFT), Ambassador Sheila Sealy Monteith, Permanent Secretary of MFAFT, Ms. Marsha Coore Lobban, Acting Under-Secretary of MFAFT, Ms. Sancia Bennett Templer, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Ms. Diane Edwards, President of Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), Ms. Shullette Cox, Vice President of JAMPRO, Ms. Barbara Scott, Deputy Director-General of the Planning Institute of Jamaica, and Mr. Winston Ennis, Deputy Mayor of Kingston. Guests from Shandong Province include Mr. Cai Xianjin, Director-General of Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Ms. Lin Guohua, Level-1 Inspector of Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Mr. Liu Ruiling, Director-General of China-Caribbean Development Center and Director-General of Jinan Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Mr. Zhang Peng, Deputy Mayor of Heze City. Representatives from Governments, Enterprises, Colleges, Associations and Foundations of Both Sides were also present.
