On 25 October 2022, the Jamaica China Friendship Association (JCFA) extended the warmest congratulations to President Xi Jinping on his election as the General Secretary of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China(CPC). The full text of the congratulatory message is as follows:

On behalf of the Jamaica China Friendship Association, we write to ask you to transmit our warmest congratulations to President Xi Jinping on his election as General Secretary of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the complete success of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, which showed the high trust and support of the CPC and the Chinese people for Xi Jinping and will be of great historical significance on the road leading towards the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

We watched with interest his leadership style over the past two terms and it was not surprising that the CPC saw it fit and necessary to ensure that he be re-elected as the General Secretary for a third term.

Prior to their being elected for the first time, most candidates make promises in respect of what they intend to accomplish when elected to office; very few, once elected, keep these promises.

President Xi made promises all of which he kept:  

He promised to eradicate extreme poverty in China and he did. This in a Country of the size of Chinese population is an accomplishment which will be carved for ever in history.

He promised to further raise China’s economy and he did.  It now is the second largest economy in the world well on its way to become the largest.  

He promised to improve the standard of living of the entire population and China now can boast the largest middle class in the world.

We mention these which are but a few of his accomplishments to demonstrate that we followed the successes which China has experienced under his Leadership. It therefore is not surprising that the people of China, through the CPC would recognize and support him for a third term for “a job well done”. He has tangibly proven his ability to continue to lead the People’s Republic of China.

We believe that China’s second centenary goal of building a great modern socialist country in all respects will be achieved under the strong leadership of the CPC.
