I. In accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations and international practices, the Chinese Embassy in Jamaica will launch biometric visa and collect fingerprint information from applicants for Chinese visas from 3 April , 2023.

Applicants from Belize and Cayman need to obey this rule and come to our embassy in person for fingerprint collection. Forgery or other people pretending to leave fingerprints will result in the applicant being refused to enter China, and the legal consequences arising therefrom will be borne by the applicant.

The processing duration is one week, please arrange your stay in Jamaica beforehand. After submitting the application materials in person, the visa office will issue the applicant a pick-up form. When picking up, please show us the form and pay by a card.

II. The following persons are exempt from collecting fingerprints and can mail all the materials to our embassy for visa application, if they are now in Belize or Cayman:

(1) Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;

(2) Holders of diplomatic passports or those who meet China's diplomatic, official and courtesy visa requirements;

(3) Applicants who have had their fingerprints taken at the Chinese Embassy in Jamaica with the same passport within 5 years and have been issued visas;

(4) Applicants whose ten fingers are incomplete or whose ten fingerprints cannot be collected.

III. Procedures of visa application by mail for the persons exempt from fingerprint collection:

1. Prepare the complete application form and other documents according to Visa Instruction.

2. Prepare bank cheque in US Dollar, pay to The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Jamaica. Prices for the visas can be found in: http://jm.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/lsfw/202312/t20231209_11198684.htm

3. Prepare return envelop of DHL or Fedex, get DHL Payer Account No. or Fedex Acct. No,and fill them in the Shipment Waybill.(DHL) or International Air Waybill(Fedex). Mail all the documents including the return envelop to the Embassy, Do not forget to write down the Tracking Number before mail out.
