On December 6, 2023, Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica Mr. Chen Daojiang handed over a batch of medical supplies to Hon. Christopher Tufton, Minister of Health and Wellness. Hon. Alando Terrelonge, Minister of State of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade witnessed this moment.

Ambassador Mr. Chen said, this donation of medical supplies is an important outcome achieved at the Foreign Ministers’ meeting among China and the Caribbean countries establishing diplomatic relations with China last year, and is a new manifestation of China-Jamaica friendship. These supplies will help Jamaica fight dengue fever and flu. China is willing to continue promoting cooperation with Jamaica and make new contributions to building a Global Community of Health for All.

    The Jamaican side expressed their appreciation and gratitude to China for this generous donation. Jamaica is willing to firmly deepen cooperation with China and expand new channels of further exchanges, such as short-term seminars and training courses as well as the “Brightness Journey” medical teams.
